Semester 2 Project
As my major project, I decided to continue with my pre-production work from the first-semester dissertation module. In that, I have learned how to use Zbrush and improved my skills in Maya, creating a human head from scratch first using Maya for low poly modelling and then taking it to ZBrush and re-sculpting it. In the first semester, I also designed a character for 3D modelling which I am using as a reference in this project.
The character is meant for a video game set in a futuristic city with a cyberpunk aesthetic style. The targeted audience is mixed gender aged 15-30 but exclusively although the lower aged audience would be considered based on how much of explicit content the game used.
My project is mainly taken as a learning experience, to develop skills in programs that are used in the industry. The outcome will consist of photo renders and a video turnaround of modelled, sculpted, and fully textured 3D model, created using industry standard software such as Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Marmoset Toolbag.
During the semester I plan to show my progress on this blog, while evaluating my achievements and mistakes, finding solutions to problems and showing my skill development and understanding of the workflow.
At the beginning of the semester, I presented my goals to tutors and classmates, showing a clear plan, methods and outcomes I set for this project.
